Hypertext Preparation Post: Public Secrets
In "Public Secrets," a hypertext essay by Sharon Daniels, we can see Delagrange's idea of remediation, Gilmore's trauma narrative, and AnzaldĂșa's "mestiza consciousness" very clearly. "Public Secrets" has the ultimate goal of abolishing prison systems a whole, by bringing the audience into the walls of a prison and listening the voices of the incarcerated women. This is meant to help the audience see the violence and corruption that really takes place in prisons, while attempting to eliminate many common beliefs and stereotypes regarding the incarcerated and personalize their stories. Delegrange's idea of remediation is present in the hypertext essay in that this essay is taking multimedia tools and using them as a platform to teach and inform.
